How do Iโ€ฆ

Focus & intents

The unit Tabatha runs on is the intent โ€” a short answer to "what am I doing right now," turned into a focus with a clock. Here's how to start one, close it out, branch a sub-intent, and share it with teammates or display it on a big screen.

Extension (Gatekeeper, home dashboard, sidebar) and Tabby Sidecar
Start an intent
1

From a new tab (Extension)

The Gatekeeper overlay asks "Why are you here?" Type into What are you working on? and press Continue for a real focus โ€” or pick โš”๏ธ Side Quest, ๐Ÿฌ Sugar Box, ๐Ÿ…ฟ๏ธ Park, or ๐Ÿ”– Later for anything less than one.

2

From the dashboard or sidebar (Extension)

Type into What are you focusing on? and press Set Focus (dashboard) or โ–ถ (sidebar).

3

From your phone (Sidecar)

Focus tab โ†’ the "๐ŸŽฏ Set focus" card โ†’ type into What are you focusing on? (or tap the mic to speak it) โ†’ โ–ถ Set focus.

Resolve a focus
1

Mark it done

Extension: โœ“ Resolved on the FocusBar โ€” on the dashboard, the sidebar, or a queue row. Sidecar: โœ“ Resolve on the active-focus card, or the โœ“ icon on a queue or sub-intent row.

Add a sub-intent
1

Branch off the current focus

Extension: ๐Ÿ“Œ Sub-focus on the FocusBar โ†’ type a name โ†’ + Add. Sidecar: the ๐Ÿ“Œ Sub-intent toggle on the Focus tab โ†’ type into Sub-intent under this focusโ€ฆ โ†’ Add sub-intent.

2

Work the list

Sub-intents show under their parent with โ–ถ (switch to it) and โœ“ (resolve it) โ€” the parent focus's clock keeps running underneath.

Invite teammates into a focus
1

Sidecar โ†’ the active-focus card โ†’ ๐Ÿ”— Invite button generates a shareable link. Teammates can open it, sign in to their own account, and see the same focus added to their queue. Both of you now track it together โ€” progress updates sync across all invited members in real time.

2

Via organization

If you're in the same organization (Team in Settings), you can also assign a focus to teammates directly from the queue view, and they'll see it pinned to their focus list.

Display on a big screen (Context View / TV)
1

What Context View shows

Context View is a landscape, ambient display of your current focus and timer โ€” designed for a TV, second monitor, or screensaver. It shows your focus name, time remaining, next focus in queue, day-reset countdown, and real-time reflections of your work clock state.

2

Set one up

TV or big monitor: open Context View (built-in to the sidecar at https://tabatha.pondocean.co/sidecar, or via the Flux Refocus screensaver app) โ†’ tap ๐Ÿ”— Sign in with pairing code โ†’ enter a 6-digit code from your extension or Sidecar. Once signed in, the big screen stays live โ€” it auto-updates whenever your focus or timer changes, and uses Phone Focus Mode to alert you if your phone goes away during a focus.
