The extension is the core of Tabatha: it gates every undirected new tab behind a quick "why are you here?" question, keeps a status bar on every page, and runs the clock. Install it once and it runs quietly from then on.
Load it unpacked at chrome://extensions (or install from the Chrome Web Store once it's published). It adds an always-on status bar — the InBar — to every page, and replaces new-tab with the Tabatha dashboard.
The first time you open an undirected new tab, an overlay asks "Why are you here?" Type into What are you working on? and press Continue for a real focus, or pick ⚔️ Side Quest, 🍬 Sugar Box, 🅿️ Park, or 🔖 Later for anything short of one.
Every page carries a thin status bar along the top: your focus timer, your clock, and quick 🔥 backburner / ⏸ pause buttons. Collapse it to a small ◉ nub if you don't need it visible.
Both show your current focus, the queue, and quick access to Tasks and Work Shifts. The dashboard replaces new-tab; the sidebar replaces Chrome's own tab strip.
Settings → ☁️ Sync & Account connects your Tabatha account, so the same focus and queue follow you to Tabby Sidecar, Context View, and the desktop companion.
